This action won't work on multiple selections

sometimes when i tried to add sheet in windows or Mac manually or through code, i am receiving the following error  "This action won't work on multiple selections".. I checked if multiple sheets got selected, but no. Please help how to resolve and what is the cause for this.

    I'm encountering the same error trying to copy a handful or columns and rows from one spreadsheet to another. Did you ever get a response to this issue? I'm just a casual user and don't even know where to look for "multiple sheets"? I've done this same move many times and I just started getting this error.
