If it's something that can't wait, from my perspective the solution will be to migrate the mailboxes from one tenant to the other one, ( cross tenant mailbox migration: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/enterprise/cross-tenant-mailbox-migration?view=o365-worldwide ), and assign the required domains to the users. ( On source tenant there'll be still mail users with the old domain routing to the new mailboxes on target tenant ).
Another solution could be create 2 separate domains, ( Domain1 and Domain2 ), and configure each one in the correct tenant with each correct DNS configuration.
