Re-install security update after CU-update?
- Jun 28, 2023The June security updates will be similar for each CU, but they are specific to the CU version, so yes you should install the SU for CU13 after you've installed CU13.
Hello ArjanBroekhuizen,
When you install a Cumulative Update (CU) for Exchange Server, it includes all the updates and security fixes up to that specific CU release. This means that when you install CU13, it will include all the updates and security fixes from CU12, including the June security update.
Therefore, you don't need to install the June security update again separately after installing CU13. CU13 will already have the security updates and fixes included.
After installing CU13, you can check the server state using various methods such as:
Checking the Exchange Server version: You can use the following PowerShell command to check the Exchange Server
Get-ExchangeServer | Select-Object Name, AdminDisplayVersion
You can check this blog for more information for example:

Thanks for your reply! You write that all updates and fixes will be included up to the releasedate of the CU. So I think the June security update will not be included in this cases? This is released after CU13 (June SU is released at June 12th; CU13 is released at May 3th).
That means I have to install it afterwards?
Kind regards,
