POP3, IMAP Encryption in Exchange Online
Dear community,
as basic authentication gets (or is already) disabled for POP3 and IMAP.
We are looking for alternative solution, as we soon have to migrate some applications for some customer.
I know that POP3 and IMAP are supported with OAUth. Can someone share any information about the encryption of POP3 and IMAP? Is the traffic encrypted and can we enforce encryption?
I think MS does an excellent job in docs.microsoft.com but the encryption part is missing as far as I know.
Best Regards
- OAuth is only for authentication, it doesn't affect anything else. Once the token is obtained/passed, any further communication occurs in the same manner as without OAuth, the protocol works the same.
