Permissions required to expose "Mail Settings" in for a user in O365 Admin Centre

I have a request from a customer who wants to be able to provide their first line help desk personnel the ability to change email forwarding and automatic reply settings for their O365 users.

I should be able to create a custom RBAC role to expose just the cmdlets to do these tasks, but would they have to use PowerShell to carry out these tasks? Does anybody know what the minimum permissions required to expose the "Mail Settings" for a user in the O365 "Admin Centre"?

  • Just assign them the "User Options" role. And no, they don't need to use PowerShell, they will be able to use the EAC just fine. That's the Exchange Admin Center, not the Office 365 one.
