Since the emails were delivered to the user mailbox but no copy was kept due to forwarding settings, the messages likely went to the user’s Deleted Items or could be in the Recoverable Items (Dumpster) folder if deleted.
Check the user’s Recover Deleted Items in Outlook or OWA to see if those emails can be restored. If you have Exchange or Microsoft 365 retention policies or backups, you might recover the missing emails from there.
If nothing’s found, unfortunately, without a copy saved or backup, recovering those emails might not be possible.
