Need help with Connectors and Ports

Hi 

I would like to know the process for Connectors and Ports. 

For example. 

My default front transport connector is scoped to port 25 

My default hub transport connector is scoped to port 2525 

1. If someone sends me a message on the front end transport on port 25, will the default hub transport on port 2525 be able to accept it? 

2. If someone sends me a message on the front end transport using port 2525 would it be able to accept it? 

I assume the front end and hub transport port numbers have to match to enable the mail to flow through them. Is that correct, or can I scope the connectors to multiple ports?
