Exchange hybrid on-premise removal
Hi,
I'm facing a huge project which is my very first kind of project after my 7 years of background as 2nd level MS Admin. Now I've got assigned an actual engineer level project which is the following.:
- Find a way to safely shut down an on-premise exchange server from a hybrid environment.
The company where I'm working is heavily Azure oriented but there are some hybrid or on-prem solution as well. There are still on-prem AD and exchange, however all the mailboxes were already migrated to exchange online and the user creation is also performs from exchange online side.
My question is.:
- What is the safest way to determine if I can proceed to remove the on-prem server from the hybrid environment?
There's some information what might help.:
Exchange version is 2013
It is unfortunately set to "Remote". What is the safest way to change it?
[PS] C:\Windows\system32>Get-OrganizationConfig | Format-List PublicFoldersEnabled
PublicFoldersEnabled : Remote
I have exchange operation background but this is a huge piece of a cake and I don't want to fail.
Thank you very much for anyone's help!
