Error uninstalling Exchange 2013
It's doing something similar now with the second (and last) 2013 server.
Stuck at Mailbox role: Mailbox service 10% and I can see the Exchange Information Store service is in the stopping state. Uninstaller hasn't crashed yet, I assume it will when some timeout is reached.

Still stuck at 10% this morning. And the Information Store service is still in stopping state.
I killed the Microsoft Exchange Store process and the uninstall continued... until it crashed again saying a service hadn't stopped.
When I checked, that particular service had stopped, so I ran the uninstall command again and it continued past that point to the next role... until it crashed again saying a service hadn't stopped.

Anyway, after 4 such errors the final error is unpassable, it shows after every running of the uninstall command.
[ERROR] Service 'Microsoft Exchange Unified Messaging (MSExchangeUM)' cannot be configured due to the following error: The specified service has been marked for deletion
The Exchange Unified Messaging and Unified Messaging Call Router services are 2 of the 3 services left (third being Exchange Search Host Controller) and all 3 are in a disabled state. It does appear that the Exchange Server is no longer in active directory (running get-exchangeserver only returns the two 2019 servers).
At this point do we know that Exchange has removed itself from the AD totally and it doesn't matter if the last bit fails, as the server 2012 vm is going to be deleted?
- DeletedOct 20, 2023I saw that the UM services had their DeleteFlag set to 1. I changed them to 0 and ran again.
It had the same error, but the services had been removed. I ran the uninstall program again and it completed without error!
HALLELUJAH! No more Exchange 2013.
