Email proxy changed on emails

Hello,

I am in Office365 with a hosted Exchange setup.

Just a question around proxy email addresses assigned to a user account.  I have an account that is used by an internal system to auto created service tickets.  Account is called user.name@company.com, it has a proxy address assigned to it called proxy.name@company.com.  It used to be that emails sent to proxy.name appeared in the mailbox as to proxy.name.  It seems this has changed and emails sent to proxy.name now show in the mailbox as to user.name.  This is messing up the auto creation process as it triggers on the email to field containing proxy.name.  Any ideas on how I can stop this change from happening?

Thanks,

Philip

  • Hey Philip,

Any way you can check the header for the TO: field? This would identify the recipient address it was sent to.

You could create a transport rule that would append a disclaimer and you could use this instead.

Let me know what you think,

    Michael
