Creating eDiscovery Search in Office365 for Email content

Hi All,

Not sure if this is the right place to post, but I am working on some content searches specific to email in Office365. I have been given a moderately sized list of keywords / critera from Legal and HR, and I am not sure the best syntax to use to get as good a result as possible.

Basically, I was given a list like this:

("Tom" and/or "Jones") AND "discriminat*"

("Tom" and/or "Jones") AND "violat*"

("Tom" and/or "Jones") AND "eliminat*"

...and so on.

I am good with the date range and the search locations, participants, etc. Just not sure how to put together the keyword list as I have like 40 or 50 of them, all like the above. In this case, Tom Jones is the ex-associate and plaintiff.

I am currently breaking it up into 4 or 5 searches, keeping the number of keywords to 10 for each search, like this:

(tom OR jones) AND discriminat* (c:s) (tom OR jones) AND violat* (c:s) (tom OR jones) AND eliminat*

I just seem to be getting results that are a little less refined than I am trying for... for example results that appear to only include "tom" without any of the additional keywords.

Any suggestions are very appreciated!

Thanks,

D
