'Work - Edge' Desktop Shortcut Reappears after deleting and reopening Edge Browser
End user removes the spam Desktop shortcut labeled 'Work - Edge':
Once they reopen the Edge browser, the app shortcut reappears.
Hi Everyone - The fix for this was released to Microsoft Edge Beta Version 117.0.2045.12. If you have access to the Beta Channel, please test and let us know if the issue has been resolved.
The fix should also be included in the next Stable release, which should be later this week if there are no delays. Thanks!

Kelly_Y We are now on Edge 117.0.2045.31 and the issue is still occurring. While the core issue is that Edge recreates the shortcut icon at every close, it's not limited to Edge. Teams also has this issue.
If Business Edge requires this recreation of shortcut icons at every closing, the issue will not be resolved regardless of what version of Edge. The only answer is to move away from Business Edge (Briefcase).
Strange Edge upgrade with no real purpose.
FYI, there have been two updates for Edge in the last day but seemingly no response from Microsoft about the issue?
- I have employees who have 10-20 of these shortcuts on their desktop. Is there any way to disable this "feature" for the time being?
