UserDataSnapshotRetentionLimit and Endless growing Edge Profile
Joachim_T Hello! Just to confirm, have you configured the UserDataSnapshotRetentionLimit policy correctly?
According to the documentation, if you set this policy, old snapshots are deleted as needed to respect the limit you set. If you set this policy to 0, no snapshots are taken.
Thanks!

Yes.
First i didnt set the policy because documentation says if not configured limit is 3. Good enough for me. But now i have seen the snapshots never where deleted on all of my thousands of userprofiles. Quite a amount of wasted space, money and time on logons in my company. All versions since V85 are still there as snapshot as you can see in the png in the first message.
And it doesnt matter if its a local Win 10 workstation or a romaning Terminalserver Profile. Same behavior everywhere.
After i found out the default doesnt work i set it to 2. Once again no result at all. All snapshots stayed as before.
Policy doesnt work as documented.

Microsoft
Joachim_T Hello! Have you checked edge://policy/ to see if there are any errors?
I took a quick look and do not see any reported issues with that specific policy. If you are able to send a screenshot of how the policy is enabled I can check with the team.
Another option is to reach out to Support. https://microsoftedgesupport.microsoft.com/hc/en-us They will be able to gather logs and help investigate your specific case. Thanks!

yes policy is checked and works good so far:
and the result in the profile you can see here:
this happens for all of our user no matter if win 10 client or Server 2016 citrix terminalserver with roaming profiles. it just cost a lot of space on our roaming profile file share.
fun fact. my edge beta profile on the same workstation seems to work as expected.
would be interesting to know at whats the trigger for the housekeeping. on every start? change of major version? every x hours?
whats also interesting. changedate on all obsolete folders is installation date of the last minor version. in this case 93.0.961.47
i will take the support as second stop if we cant find a solution here.
sincerly
