Setting Edge home page via GPO
- Mar 18, 2024
sjwult Hi! Just to confirm a few things first. Are you using the latest Microsoft Edge policy files? They can be downloaded here: Download Edge for Business (microsoft.com) Also, the documentation for policy files is here: Configure Microsoft Edge for Windows with policy settings | Microsoft Learn
It sounds like you might need to use the HomepageLocation Policy. Or other possible policies to customize the home page can be found here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/deployedge/microsoft-edge-policies#startup-home-page-and-new-tab-page-policies Thanks!

Kelly_Y Thank you for replying.
I have copied the latest msedge.admx file to C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions on the PDC and have the Microsoft Edge folder in computer configuration - policies - administrative templates and in the Microsoft Edge folder I have the startup, home page and new tab page folder.
In that folder I have the 'sites to open when the browser starts setting enabled and the site in the site list but unfortunately it isn't working after a gpupdate /force and my home page isn't changed when I open Edge.

sjwult If you are using the RestoreOnStartupURLs policy (Sites to open when the browser starts), do you have the RestoreOnStartup policy (Action to take on startup) configured as well?
Also, is your device joined to a Microsoft Active Directory domain, joined to Microsoft Azure Active Directory` or enrolled for device management?
