- Feb 06, 2020To elaborate on this a little bit, Edge (and Chromium-based browsers) block link navigation to file:// URLs from pages loaded over HTTP/HTTPS.
If you copy/paste the file URL to the address bar, or if you click on the link from a page loaded from another file:// URL, it should work just fine.
