Deploying Edge to MacOS with direct link
IT admin here,
I've been deploying Edge to our MacOS devices using the following link: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2069148&platform=Mac&Consent=1&channel=Stable
This has been working great to ensure that all installs are always the latest version. But recently we've run in to an issue. This link is for the Intel version. I've been looking around everywhere but I am unable to find a similar link for the ARM version for the M1/M2 chip. The ARM/Universal link hosted on Microsoft's Edge download page will only download a specific version. In this case 107.0.1418.24. See the following link: https://officecdnmac.microsoft.com/pr/03adf619-38c6-4249-95ff-4a01c0ffc962/MacAutoupdate/MicrosoftEdge-107.0.1418.24.pkg?platform=Mac&Consent=1&channel=Stable
What I'm wondering is, can we potentially get a link for the ARM version from the go.microsoft.com/fwlink source? Otherwise, I will have to constantly be updating the URL in our MDM (We don't use Intune)
highflyer355 Hello! I've reached out to the team and currently there is no Apple only package. But there is a Universal package which works for either and might work for your scenario.
Here is a link to the Mac Stable Channel Universal Installer: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2093504
