Why Edge canary is downloading 140MB just for an update?

on Windows 10 the update finished quickly, downloading only few MBs but on my Mac, it appears that the updater is downloading the whole package again. isn't there any way to make it download only the changes?

not to mention that it's painfully slow and I don't know why
