Why does Microsoft not think having a selected state on the History Sidebar list is important?

Internet Explorer's history sidebar had a selected state so you would know where in the list of history items you last left off. So, why doesn't the Edge Browser history sidebar have any type of visible selected state after you click on a page link item in the history sidebar?
