Hi Jan & welcome,
It is not something that needs to be "planned". It will be a natural occurrence. The same as Edge works, by default, with Timeline, the new Edge will, as well. When it is the OS's integral browser, they will continue to work together, as now; and, without adding an extension, anymore, of course.
For now, with Edge C, you can make it work with an extension called, Timeline. Click the logo to access Timeline https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/timeline-support/meokcjmjkobffcgldbjjklmaaediikdj
