Unfortunate that nearly 5 years later and somehow Chrome has this feature before Edge despite MS being first to release a native vertical tab bar years before other Chromium browsers.
In stable Chrome, once you enable vertical tabs, the shortcut Ctrl+Shift+L is available to collapse/expand the vertical tab bar which hides the tab titles showing their favicons only.
Any chance Edge will follow?
