Unfinished symmetry, or overlooked asymmetry - 2

Before Edge will present urbi et orbi new Workspaces, multifaceted marvel, which brings fourth dimension to the basic panels of Tab Groups, Favorites and Collections, isn't the time to polish some inconsistencies in naming options for example?

Look at the status quo aka what we have in Edge now, paints rather dire image - outrageous state of menu items. That's my point of view, of course, but I will prove it in this post. I'm sure, that these implemented ideas would bring tangible benefits to common users of Edge browser.

The more I read about Edge (and use it!), the more I see the Edge is multiplying separated and incongruous bookmark enclaves. It's high time to ask Edge team to lay down clear and exhausting presentation of well defined differences, with both cons, and pros, between the four panels despite betraying few similar features in reality.

It's absolutely essential to have the new workspaces (in the offing) seamlessly intertwined with other three features/panels - bestowing them similar option names and make them consistent not only with the graphical layout aesthetics, but within their menus.

I know that all four (yet three) existing panels are very different objects. They were built step by step by different group of coders hence what was created, quickly transformed into sad state of browser's menu state concerning:
- naming
- option presentation order
- unification among existing panels

Let me show what I've found and what I think is of great importance to simplify management of those panels. I thought it over lately where I could, but intricacies are alien to me. Anyway, Edge Team might look into the ideas to ponder deeper what could be improved. Let's start the overview.

I. Simplifying and unifying panel options
Note:
+ option present
- option not present, but it might be implemented

1) Tab groups
a) what's to do
- Add Selection option to tab groups

b) what's present
+ Add all tabs to Favorites (it is Add open pages to favorites - wrongly)
+ Add all tabs to Collections
- Open all (x)
- Open all (x) in new Window
- Open all (x) in new InPrivate Window

c) selecting option
- select - one, few, all
- copy selection - one, few, all

2) Collections
a) what's to do
+ Add Selection option to collections

b) what's present
- Add all cards to Tab groups
- Add all cards to Favorites
+ Open all (x)
+ Open all (x) in new Window
+ Open all (x) in new InPrivate Window

c) selecting option
+ select - one, few, all
+ copy selection - one, few, all

3) Favorites
a) what's to do
- Add Selection option to Folders

b) what's present
- Add all bookmarks to Tab groups
- Add all bookmarks to Collections
+ Open all (x)
+ Open all (x) in new Window
+ Open all (x) in new InPrivate Window

c) selecting option
- select - one, few, all
- copy selection - one, few, all

4) Workspaces
a) what's to do - ?
b) what's present - ?

II. Unification of vertical options order without unification of options
Note:
It must be set aka decided - either tabs, or pages. Edge programmers have problems with logic evidently, I'm afraid. As I deal with bookmarks and tabs here, I've changed pages to tabs. The Edge should not show itself as a sort of La Vida Loca! 😞

1) Tab groups
a) panel context
[Fig. 1]

New order: (suggested by me, I will not repeat the note later)
* New tab
* Reopen closed tabs (tabs not tab - last group can be reopened too)
* Copy all tabs to Favorites (copy not add, tabs not pages, Favorites not favorites)
* Copy all tabs to Collections
---
* Show title bar
* Turn off vertical tabs

b) tab group context
[Fig. 2]

New order:
* New tab in group
* Copy group to new collection (copy not Add, group not tab group, without a)
* Move group to new window
---
* Ungroup
* Close group

2) Collections
a) panel context
[Fig. 3]

New order:
* no changes

b) collection context
[Fig. 4]

New order:
no changes

3) Favorites
a) panel context
[Fig. 5]

New order:
no changes

b) folder context
[Fig. 6]

New order:
* Sort by name
* Rename
* Delete
---
* Add this tab to folder (tab not page)
* Add all tabs to folder (all tabs not open pages)
* Add folder
---
* Open all (x)
* Open all (x) in new Window
* Open all (x) in new InPrivate Window

4) Workspaces
a) panel context - ?
b) tab group context - ?

1) I do not use Canard version. I'd be very grateful if someone would like to add information about Workspaces. In the same form as I use above. Thank you.

2) One can change tab(s) to page(s). The crux of these modifications pertains to coherency in naming between panels' menus. But one should exercise prudence. I'm for tabs, of course, as we are to exchange mainly addresses (hyperlinks) with titles, not mythical pages, or their representations of screenshots/thumbnails.
