Unable to turn off "Continue where you left off" feature in Edge browser

I'm having trouble finding and turning off the "Continue where you left off" feature in the edge browser version 114.0.1823.67. The reason I want to turn this feature off is that it saves the scroll position of the mouse whenever we open a pdf document within an application and when there is another completely different pdf opened in the same application after some time it remembers the scroll position of the previous pdf and scrolls down to that position in the new pdf.

If someone can help me with this it'd great.

The "Continue where you left off" feature in Edge is designed to restore your tabs and websites from the previous session when you launch the browser. However, it can also cause some problems with PDF documents or other applications that run in the background.

One possible way to turn off this feature is to disable the option that allows Edge to run in the background after you close it. You can do this by following these steps:

    1. Open Microsoft Edge.
    2. Click the Settings and more (three-dotted) button from the top-right.
    3. Select the Settings option.
    4. Click on System.
    5. Turn off the Continue running background apps when Microsoft Edge is closed toggle switch¹.

Alternatively, you can also choose to close all tabs on exit by going to edge://settings/onStartup and selecting "Open a new tab" .

Another possible way to turn off this feature is to reset Edge settings to their default values. This will clear any temporary data like cookies and disable all extensions that might interfere with your PDF documents or other applications. You can do this by following these steps:

    1. Open Microsoft Edge.
    2. Click the Settings and more (three-dotted) button from the top-right.
    3. Select the Settings option.
    4. Click on Reset settings from the left pane.
    5. Select Restore settings to their default values.

Note: This will reset your startup page, new tab page, search engine, and pinned tabs. Your favorites, history and saved passwords will not be cleared.

Thanks for your valuable suggestion however I tried both of them but none seems to resolve the issue for me. I don't know how, why and where edge browser is saving the scroll position of the pdf. I closed the browser completely and opened another pdf file and still it scrolls to the same position.
