unable to change search engine for the address-bar
Deleted Upload an image on Google Image search and then upload it on Bing Image search, then compare the results.
Bing will give you completely irrelevant results, that look nothing like the image. In some cases it works fine, but on most cases it fails so badly. Google have done a fantastic job on their search. It will take quite a long time before Bing gets where Google search is.

What the heck does that have to do with my original query. I don't really care what search you use. I use Google and wanted to know how to make Edge work with Google.

Deleted I had the same issue - changing search engines via Settings didn't work, had to use the old Edge method of actually going to the search engine page and entering a query, then it would retain that as the choice for search engine. Old Edge when it is closed leaves remnants in memory and it is getting in the way of Edge Chromium.
Edge Chromium is supposed to work just like Chrome - change the engine via settings and done. The fix for me was restart the PC to flush the old Edge debris from memory and open Edge Chromium, go to Settings, Privacy, Address Bar change search engines and the address bar now uses that choice.
