Looks like you got this to work. I can't. I added Google as a search engine and set it as the search engine for the address bar. Now when I type something on the address bar and hit enter, nothing happens. If I set it back to Bing and type something and hit enter it takes me to Bing search. How did you make it work with Google?
Thanks,
Bill

Deleted Had you tried the following? Sometimes manual entries are a good door to typos. This did the trick for me when I was trying to use Duck Duck Go.
1- Go to edge://settings/searchEngines
2- Delete your Google entry
3- Go to Google.com
4- Return to edge://settings/searchEngines
5- Make the new Google entry your default search engine
6- Try doing a search using the address bar

Thanks for the reply. I deleted my Google entry, went to Google.com, and then went back to the settings, but there was no Google entry. Was this supposed to be automatically added back? If so it didn't happen for me.

I found an extension called Address Bar Search Switcher which allows me to use Google search from the address bar. I can use this until Microsoft fixes Edge to use the search engine defined in the settings.
