The PDF reader should remember the last position where I stayed in a previously opened PDF and suggest going to that position as Microsoft Word does with .docx files. It would be nice to have a list of the latest PDFs read.

Exactly!! It's a mandatory feature to have in any PDF Reader!!
Also they must add dark mode for PDF or Reading mode!!!
And a lot of other problems and missing features!!
But instead they releases a lot of Edge versions with nothing really special added or fixed 🤷🏻‍🤷🏻🤷🏻‍
