This feature is indicated as Addressed since March 31, Provide an option to set a custom URL for a new tab instead of showing the new tab page but still not available in Edge
After 6 months, would it really be possible to see this feature ?
Thanks

Oct 19, 2020tistou I am confident I have mentioned this to you or someone else in these posts in the past, but I cannot find it now. Well, then! This feature is available under a policy for system admins.

Community Manager - Microsoft EdgeHi,
I've tried this policy and unfortunately, it's not easy to use as it requires an MDM or Windows server to be applied to the client, so user can't simply install group policy files on their computer and modify that policy.
this policy along with 17 other policies, are the rare ones that strictly need this requirement.
so it'd really be helpful if Edge team added this to the Edge settings to be usable for regular users.
Thank you

Ah I hadn't seen, sorry
Indeed, this option is available since the beginning of Edge with this policy for system admins.
I didn't know that this feedback was also for system admins (not indicated in the "Addressed")Could the "normal" user also have this option ?
Thanks
Thanks

tistou I have seen some users adjust their registries to map the change similar to the policy when they use Windows 10 Pro, though we technically do not suggest that users do this. However, for regular users who want to change the page, submitting feedback requesting this feature is what I would suggest. I know you have politely asked about this a few times, and I have seen a few other requests for this from users, so I know the team is aware of it in some regard. Unfortunately I don't have insight into any plans right now. If I happen to see it, though, I will work with the team to see if we can get a new item added onto this list for y'all. 🙂
