A couple of observations about vertical tabs...

 

  1. I think the icons on the buttons are the wrong way around. When the tabs are horizontal, shouldn't the button show the vertical tabs - to indicate that that's what you'll get when you click the button? Similarly, when vertical tabs are showing, the button's icon should show the horizontal tab - to show that that's what you'll get when you click the button.
  2. It'd be great if, when pinned, you could drag to resize the width of the column containing the vertical tabs.
