I am missing one tile so that the start menu would seem full. A wide tile would take the place of two, for example

If that's the only use you have, why don't you make other apps wide or large, compensating the missing tile you have?

Deleted Why then are there Wide and Large tiles for the Calculator? Why did their development team find these sizing options useful? Why there are no general development guidelines for native Microsoft's apps?
We all know that different teams at Microsoft work separately from others and there is no interaction. This is why we can see eight different options for context menus and other chaos in the Windows 10 interface.
