This feature is indicated as adressed
Provide an option to set a custom URL for a new tab instead of showing the new tab page
I don't have this option in the latest version of Canary
Thanks

it was never introduced in Canary in the first place, never, to no one. we're still waiting for someone from Edge team to give us more info about it, so far nothing.
I'm a every day canary user and I monitor the changes I receive every time and it was never in canary channel. not even a controlled feature rollout thing.

I am confused. i can control this in Edge stable by GPO since V79. Why it should gone in canary suddenly?
Maybe i just dont understand your problem

We are really excited to announce that the new tab page items we started rolling out earlier this month are now available to all in our Dev and Canary channels. This means we are marking these all as Addressed today:
- Add an option to hide the Bing search bar on the new tab page
- Allow the search bar in the new tab page to be configured with other search providers
- Provide an option to set a custom URL for a new tab instead of showing the new tab page
For this reason I point out that this option is still not present- HotCakeXApr 09, 2020MVPSpoiler

You think I haven't seen that already?
if there is that option in Edge, then prove it, show me a screenshot.
