Sync isn't available for this account
- Mar 24, 2020
LordDelacroix There's a lot of things happening in this thread. Sync is absolutely available for regular users and specific enterprise users as seen here. There are a few things around sync that are not currently enabled, history sync being the biggest one. If sync is still not working for you based on these prerequisites, I'd love to be able to help you out a bit more on a personalized level. Please create a new thread and ensure to tag me in it so I get a notification for the post.
To make it clear, I'd really rather everyone didn't do what I just asked LordDelacroix above. If you are in this thread already and still having an issue with sync please respond to this message. Provide a screenshot, if possible, and details on what type of account you have (either a personal account, or one listed in the link above). I want to help you out, but with so much going on in here, it's hard to parse who's having what issue right now.
If you are a new person stumbling upon this thread, are having issues with sync, and don't see an answer that will help you, please create a new thread. We review our forums daily (M-F, Pacific time) and will take the time to address as many people as we can. Sync is a particularly frustrating pain point for users like yourselves, and we try to make an effort to help those running into these issues. Appreciate the understanding of our process and patience with us while we work through getting to as many of you as possible. 🙂

Hi, guess you have figured it out....
Got this problem in my organization today as we rolled out Edge Chronium. Among all thing I read, this posting was one of them. My findings is that a "work/school account" signed in at Edge Chronium need to have a verifyed account and after verification need to re-signin into Edge. Several of our users have tested this procedure and it works all the time.

Raymond_666 can you share how to verify a work/school account?

This might clarify: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/deployedge/microsoft-edge-enterprise-sync#configuration-options-for-microsoft-edge-sync
Our problem is multiple. We have several users with mixed "Microsoft Account and Azure AD account", and some of us have accounts in more than one Azure AD, just to top it off... We also upgraded Edge at the same time.
I, as an example, have 3 profiles:
* My Microsoft account profile: works
* My Azure AD account (EDU): Works
* My Azure AD account (E3, without AIP): Not syncing
Confusing: Yes.
Jolly good rollout of Edge Chronium to the org: NO!

Sorry about that, it might look like it does'nt work. Or..
Status is: "Investigating".
In short: You verify your account by phone (text code) and email (code in a email).
After that, we was able to set sync on... And it stayed on.. Or it looked like it. Nice green message, sync is on, like the other accounts that I am syncing.
Then we enabled multifactor auth for our users, and got a issue there. Now, we are not able to enable sync again even after removing the multifactor requirement for the users.
Have to look into this during the evening/tomorrow. Again sorry!
