Suggestion: Sound control for installed Applications
Hi there,
I installed a web radio as a web application. Work perfect but we can't control sound like in tab. This could be a great feature.
My 2cts.
- Hi,
doesn't that web radio that you use offer a volume control on their own website?
most online radios do. I added Spotify web player as PWA and it has its own volume control.- RichardC64Copper ContributorI take the example of a web radio and it's true but it's not true for every app. I like the idea to control sound on every tab, even if it is in a standalone PWA app.
- The thing is, even the normal browser windows and tabs don't have a fixed volume control, let alone the PWA versions where the UI is very minimal and compact.
that isn't a problem either, because a browser is Not a media player software like VLC.
Microsoft added Global Media Controls button to the toolbar and many people protested and then Microsoft added a flag to be able to disable it.
It is the duty of every website developer to make their website UI comfortable for its viewers. Most of the websites already have a volume control, if one of them don't, then you should report it to their developer as a feedback to implement it.
you can also use these extensions to have what you want and the extension can be used in both normal tabs and PWAs
