Split SCREEN omission

I am loving the split screen feature but there is a glaring omission which lessens it's useability.

It on works if you click a link from one page, to creat a second split screen page.
It does NOT work on Favourites.

My need is for a split screen of two of my Favourites pages. Neither has a link within it to the other page.

Please, someone, make a change.
