Hey, everyone! Thanks so much for this discussion, we've learned a lot from your comments. We'd like to first make it clear that we do not plan to integrate Google services into Microsoft Edge by default. We are considering including an opt-in experience for users to attach their Google account to Microsoft Edge but are not ready to make a decision on it just yet.
I'd like to take this time to reiterate what Elliot posted back in November: One option available to you today to use a single user identifier across the various services you use is to create a new Microsoft Account using a @gmail address.
As you know, you can currently import your data from Chrome by going to edge://settings/importData. You can also sign into Google websites and remember your password in Microsoft Edge to reduce the number of times you need to sign in. Accessing your Microsoft Edge data on-the-go is easily done by signing into Microsoft Edge with a Microsoft account and syncing with Microsoft Edge across other devices and mobile.
As always, we will update here once we have more information. Please continue to provide your feedback and suggestions around this feature; the team will continue to review feedback even if we have moved something to Not Planned.

Please consider Not adding Google services. you have spent so much time removing Google stuff from Chromium, it doesn't make sense to add them back.
Only do it if and only if Google add sign-in using Microsoft account to their Chrome browser.
I bet they are not even thinking about it let alone putting it for a debate. you guys are really awesome for that and you know better than me that people with Google account can easily sign up for a Microsoft account without even needing to create a new Email address.

many of us use Microsoft products for a reason and that is to get distance from Google ecosystem.
Windows 10 is almost installed on over 1 Billion devices. there is no shortage of Microsoft account.
i think there are more registered Microsoft accounts than registered Google accounts.

- Yes exactly, we don't want any Google sign in feature in Edge. Most of us are coming to this as we don't want to use Google chrome. So why anybody want Google login here??? It's simple.

No, I mean people think Microsoft copies Google, but look at this community, for example, and you will realize that Google doesn't have a public community like this.

Microsoft has been doing it for years and years in their own internet explorer. only when they changed to chromium when they decided they are removing those from chromium. BUT Microsoft WINDOWS 10 has built in data mining and so of course they don't need to ADD it into a browser when their whole operating system is collecting data.

- So, your response to Google being "evil" is to ask Microsoft to do the same? I guess, in your world, two wrongs make a right. Nice moral values you've got there, buddy... Since you are so eager to get away from everything Google, why would you even care whether Chrome supports MS sign-in? And if Microsoft's cause is important to you, what good would it do to deny Google ecosystem users a chance to try the new MS browser (which many, like me, won't do if they don't have the ability to switch back and forth in an instant)? You basically have a zero-sum, lose-lose mentality, and it stinks...

Google is doing exactly the same and provides absolutely no compatibility with Microsoft ecosystem and look where their browser stands against Edge. yup, that's your answer, buddy.
