Thanks for your feedback requesting the ability to sign in with a consumer Google account. From what we’re hearing, you’d like the ability to bring over data from Chrome, use your Google services and keep Microsoft Edge and Chrome in sync.
While we recognize this need, we’re currently focused on creating great 1st party account experiences with your Microsoft account and Work or School account. We appreciate the feedback around supporting signing in with other providers such as Google and will be taking this under consideration. One option available to you now would be to create a new Microsoft Account using your @gmail address, which would allow you to use a single user identifier across the various services you use.
Today, you can import your data from Chrome by going to edge://settings/importData for a one time import. You can also sign into Google websites and remember your password in Microsoft Edge to reduce the number of times you need to sign into these websites. And you can access your Microsoft Edge data on the go by signing into Microsoft Edge with a Microsoft account and syncing with Microsoft Edge Mobile apps and Microsoft Edge on other devices.
We will keep you updated as we further explore support for other sign-in providers in Microsoft Edge as well, it is on our roadmap.
Hey, everyone! Thanks so much for this discussion, we've learned a lot from your comments. We'd like to first make it clear that we do not plan to integrate Google services into Microsoft Edge by default. We are considering including an opt-in experience for users to attach their Google account to Microsoft Edge but are not ready to make a decision on it just yet.
I'd like to take this time to reiterate what Elliot posted back in November: One option available to you today to use a single user identifier across the various services you use is to create a new Microsoft Account using a @gmail address.
As you know, you can currently import your data from Chrome by going to edge://settings/importData. You can also sign into Google websites and remember your password in Microsoft Edge to reduce the number of times you need to sign in. Accessing your Microsoft Edge data on-the-go is easily done by signing into Microsoft Edge with a Microsoft account and syncing with Microsoft Edge across other devices and mobile.
As always, we will update here once we have more information. Please continue to provide your feedback and suggestions around this feature; the team will continue to review feedback even if we have moved something to Not Planned.

Elliot Kirk Seeing cross company accessibility like this is really inspiring.

Elliot Kirk I personally love this idea. It would be super nice to be able to have all my Microsoft Edge (which I use on most of my devices) favourites, extensions and extension data, and everything else synced with Chrome (which is usually the required browser for my organisation’s devices- and is required on my iPhone as well, as I am not able to use Edge). I can also see how this would be useful to Android users who use Chrome, not Edge, on their phones, as well as users of Chromebooks.
I do agree though, this should be an optional toggle to bring Google integration.

- SeidChrCopper ContributorSo Basically:
I already HAVE a Google Account and use Google Chrome predominantly on just about any device. Google has all my browsing habits. I CAN LIVE WITH THAT.
I use all google services all over the place.
Now Microsoft brings out a competing product, which is suppoesed to be an alternative to Chrome.
There is no way i gonna use it, if i am not able to log in with my Google account and keep all my browsers in sync with google. Because i am not gonna switch all my 6 different accounts at once, nor do i stop using chrome on all devices i have at the same time.
If there is no way of bringing added passwords and bookmarks back to Google, so i can use both systems at the same time, im not going to switch to Edge whatsoever ...
Once the transition is done, i can turn that off, but hard cut is not going to work out for me.
I am actually realtively fine with edge, but as long as the transition is not smooth, its not gonna happen.- hheardlucasBrass ContributorThank you for replying to my question. Having both systems running on my desktop has confused me so I will find someone to come and organize my programs and applications. I am in a transition now and not sure which ones to keep.
I appreciate your efforts to help me. Have a good day!
- cathy320edge-Copper ContributorI just wanted my phone and all my apps and pictures all to be where I need any time,.You have been most helpful. THANK YOU...Cathy Roberts
just bought this used laptop and wanted more space .other than my phone trying to do any kind of creating. Im not so smart when it comes to trying to figure this computer stuff, been about 3 years being on a pc so trying to catch up.- PUNKMETALCopper ContributorIk heb een Google account omdat dat verplicht is om een Android smartphone te gebruiken want verder gebruik ik zo min mogelijk Google produkten maar helaas zijn er waar je niet onderuit kunt.

From what I understand by reading this post, I think this can be a really great feature as I browse from Microsoft Edge on the desktop, because Google Chrome is worse in literally every field, and on android I use Google Chrome because the Microsoft Edge android app is (sadly) quite bad comparatively. So I use two different browsers on a daily basis and since they are completely different, none of my data is getting synced. Sure, I can transfer my saved passwords, bookmarks/favorites and history from Chrome but it is a manual, time-consuming, one-time process. Once I have new data I'll have to sync between them again, and again. What I want is for Chrome and Edge to regularly sync data between each other such that whatever I browse in Chrome gets updated in my Edge history, or whichever password I save, or webpage I favorite - gets saved or favorited in Edge too. This will be really useful and productive for someone like me who prefers to use different browsers on desktop and phone; and I'm sure I'm not the only person in the world who does that. Just like Edge comes pre-installed with Windows, Chrome comes pre-installed on Android phones so it makes sense that many people would continue to use Chrome on their mobile phones.
However, I think if it's possible to somehow keep Edge and Chrome in sync without having to sign-in to Edge with Google account, it'll be benificial, as I would have my MSA profile picture displayed and Microsoft Rewards points in track. Further, Google is basically a third-party service in this case, and I don't trust it that much.
Or if doing that isn't possible then Google should also introduce the ability to sign in to Chrome with Microsoft account parallelly when Edge introduces the similar kind of ability for signing in with Google account. - ightNOWboyBrass Contributor
Elliot Kirk so i guess i just go back to google at work, who at least allows sync to work. is it not a god given right to sync your bookmarks and tabs? when ms almost gets me convinced, they give me the finger. if your email account is in AAD, you will not be able to sync it unless you pay dearly for the privilege. You need to have Azure Information Protection for Office 365. Here is the list of acceptable licenses that work to have your browser sync. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/information-protection/activate-office365 hey Microsoft i cant breathe!! HotCakeX maybe im missing something, maybe there is another thread on this

Elliot Kirk I'm totally against connexion with this sh.. Google.
I'm using Microsoft i don't want to see Google there, if i use edge it's for the edge store who let me broke all tie to google.
So don't listen to those who just want to use edge a second browser and want to sync chrome and edge, and listen those who help you in insider to improve edge and use it a only browser !!

I think there's a problem with Edge's mobile app - many users who sync Google Chrome with their desktop and mobile have set up Google's password manager in their Android autofill service or keychain. However, Microsoft Edge does not currently have anything like this. Passwords between browsers are synced, but app passwords aren't autofilled or stored.
I use Edge on desktop and mobile, but I don't use password synchronization and use Bitwarden. This isn't because I chose Bitwarden, but because Edge can't be set up as an autofill service and the app doesn't remember my password.
How great would it be if I could create an account in Spotify's mobile app (not the browser) and have it autofill on my desktop?
Mozilla gave this answer a few years ago; Firefox Lockwise is a respected app that can be set up in the Android Autofill service.
Microsoft needs to provide something equivalent to this.
