Sidebar keeps coming back even though I keep closing? Is Microsoft actively trying to sabotage Edge?
Ever since the recent update, the sidebar keeps coming back even though I have closed and disabled it.
Why does Microsoft keep making these changes? It's like they don't want folks to use Edge. I love Edge but if they keep forcing settings that we don't want then it will drive me away.
IMtheNachoMan I'm not having this issue here: I turn the Sidebar off, and it says off.
In the Address Bar, at the top of Edge, delete any existing text, then type edge://settings/?search=sidebar then press ENTER. Find the setting "Show sidebar", turn it off, then restart your PC (or just log out of Windows, then back in). If the Sidebar keeps re-appearing, then something is wrong with your profile and the setting is not being remembered. Go to edge://settings/profiles and click "+ Add Profile" at the top-right to create a new one, and see if the setting works under the new one. If not, and you are using a company-owned device, speak to your IT Team, as they may be forcing this option to be on and not allowing you to change it
