Here is an example of why Fav Bar items showing only icons or not is on an individual basis... when the names are different whilst, the logos are the same. (CBC & MS)



And, please, note, the Favs icon list stays in full, regardless of how the (showing) Bar items are set.


Oh & notice the coloured pointer... cursor colour can, now, be set by the End User.  But, y'all likely know that, already.
