Another suggestion:
In IE11 when closing the tab with the X, the previous tabs were resized and the X was in the same place as the mouse cursor. It was really comfortable. Attached a gif for better understanding.

Very much miss this feature too. It was the best part of IE tab management that got lost in the transition to Edge
