Rename tabs (custom name for each tab) on Microsoft Edge Browser
I need an option to rename the tab in Microsoft Edge, on right-click menu.
This is useful when we are researching and we open many tabs, there should be an option to let us rename the tab with a custom name (and adding emoji maybe) so we could access tabs faster at a glance, and this helps not double-checking the tab content.
as mentioned on this thread, there are some Chrome extensions like "Tab Modifier" to do this, but it would be great and very useful if Edge allow us to rename tabs. at least by enabling a special flag!

Ali_01 You can open dev console with F12 then select console and do
document.title = "TITLE HERE"
It will change the tab title, but I dont think it persists across page loads. I use this with vertical tabs for open work orders that wont change pages often- xcloudx01Copper ContributorThanks! This also works in Windows 11 when pinning a page to the start menu. If you rename the tab first, then that name will be used on the shortcut it creates on the start menu.

- drewfus92Copper ContributorThis would be great. Sometimes I have multiple tabs from the same application where I'm running different queries, and I'd like to be able to tell which tab belongs to which query without needing to click into it to look at the page. I'd rather create a query, and while the query is running, I'd rename the tab. Good temporary workaround kernkraft382

Ali_01 Agreed - For good measure I added it on the feedback platform. Please vote.

Count me in.
My 2 cents. Having vertical tab groups is godsend goody! But I like to have Tab actions menu pinned and kept it narrowed. The bad thing is that the names of tabs are unreadable/hidden. I can look at icons to know what is what, but short names would be better. Alas, I cannot rename tab's name, there's no such option.
There's more to it. Part of my tab groups and tabs are rock-solid items, thanks to the excellent option "Put inactive tabs to sleep after the specified amount of time:". Minimum RAM used. Other tab groups are transient. But those rock solid groups/tabs beg for renaming. Would you mind correcting this part of Edge?
BTW. A lot of polishing changes might be done under newly coined My Edge, My pleasure - underlining usability and customization of Edge (if it'd be implemented!).

What boggles my mind is how short-viewed these developers are. I am a Senior Cloud Architect for a very large company and as such I manage multiple cloud environments and a large number of subscriptions all of which I work with daily. I like the sidebar feature, but the fact that you cant rename the apps is moronic. Right now I have many subscriptions pinned as apps, but I dont know which one I am clicking on. The hover over only shows a generic "Microsoft Azure" tooltip. I thought moving to Edge would be a good move given the features, but once again it seems like the developers created something they thought was a good feature. The amount of effort and time it takes to update a feature like this is also astonishing. How hard can it be? Yet it will take months or years to happen or never happen at all. Not to mention I got to looking at the settings of Edge and it is quite intrusive. Maybe not to the untrained eye, but run a packet capture on the browser and trace the findings. Its sending data whether or not you want it to and who knows where its going and what its being used for. It seems that Gates and the brass at Microsoft just cant seem to get enough money. Billions and billions and they are always trying to find ways to mine and sell data. And if you dont think they are making money off your data, you are just plain naive. We never see a cut of that money. How much would we all have if we did? A lot. Bill Gates claims to be a philanthropist yet I have never gotten a dime for the sale of my information from him or any other multibillionaire and the only reason they have half the money they do is from our data.
Im not saying its any better and may actually be worst in this respect, but I will stick with chrome. At least I am able to customize it more.
- Dennis234234Copper ContributorSo now we have vertical tabs, we have workspaces, but we can't rename the tabs? This is just as funny as the 'multiple repos' widget of DevOps, we still have to click every repo individually to see the pull requests. Microsoft devs, c'mon.. please think!
