Tab Preview - Discussion
After you start the tab preview the others can pop up instantly after mousing over them (much like old edge), but tab previews intially should not be instant. I don't want to see a tab preview every time I move my mouse over the tab; if you go to move tabs or pull out to another window you shouldn't instantly be getting a preview of that tab if all you're doing is tab management.
2s might be high (and can be lowered) but I don't feel like it should be lower than 1 second (I believe old edge had a 1s delay). Tab previews haven't even been seen before by a large number of users I'm betting (people coming from Chrome, IE, Firefox) and having an instant preview could be a jarring experience for them and could be annoying if they instantly pop up every time.
If a tab preview button (like the old set aside button, but for all tabs) is implemented that showed all tab previews at once it would/should be instant.
I think how it works in legacy Edge is fine. There is a initial 1 second delay but after that if you move your mouse over other tabs, the preview instantly appears. Giving users the option to customize the preview delay or disable previews entirely also makes sense but I think having it enabled with a 1 second initial delay would be a good default.
