Dev channel update to 83.0.467.0 is live
Mapantz interesting. So when I have the high CPU usage and I delete that process from task manager I get a balloon pop up saying that dark reader extension has crashed. That's why I thought the update might have broken dark reader extension. Could be a different underlying issue too then
- bhargavreddyApr 01, 2020Iron ContributorYeah, after using it for a while with the dark reader extension removed, I still encounter high CPU usage. But when I kill that task I don't seem to get any crashes.

bhargavreddy We've been doing some research over the weekend, and apparently the Dark Reader extension has an issue with the way it's written that's been causing high CPU usage that's unrelated to the other high CPU use issue in Edge recently. We're going to reach out to the author of that extension to see if they're aware of the problem.

josh_bodner After updating yesterday to 83.0.474.0 I haven't seen the issue happen even once - I have not updated any extensions or changed the websites that I visit so the issue must have been in the Edge version - before I would get the CPU spikes about once an hour - haven't gotten a single one since.

When I open the task manager and delete the process, one of the tabs I have open says it has crashed.
