Problems with Credential Manager
josh_bodner I've come to understand that they're stored in the cloud and then downloaded to the local machine and stored in the users appdata... folder. However, my problem is that if I try to view a password, I get the prompt for my windows login password which I submit and then I get a flash and the ........'s are still there. I've tried using export passwords with the same results. I know the password is correct; otherwise, I wouldn't be logged onto my computer. But I can't find out what's wrong. I don't even know how to begin diagnosing the problem.

josh_bodner The version of edge I was using: 101.0.1210.32 - and I have restored my WIN10 pro from a backup taken in Feb. before I upgraded to WIN11 and the current version of edge is: 101.0.1210.32 and it is working with my win10 pro restored system. I don't see this as an edge problem; also, I don't think it's a win11 problem per se because I have another partition with win10 home which was upgraded to win11 and it works fine (since I let it run for a while before upgrading my primary win10 pro os to make sure there weren't any gotcha's I felt it was OK to upgrade my primary os to win11pro from win10 pro). But, the fact remains that after I upgraded my primary os from win10 to win11, I started having these problems with edge. Could it be my virus prog (pc matic)? I don't think so because it was in use before. There just seems to be something related to authenticating my credentials that wasn't working and therefore I couldn't see passwords, or export or import them; nor could I edit them or copy them. The results were always the same: I would get the popup window asking for my local windows password, I'd enter it, the popup would close, but I wouldn't see the password nor would it go on to export or edit. Now that I have the ability to see passwords and presumably export them, I'm going to export them and import them into chrome and not use Edge for any kind of internet activity that involves requiring passwords. Maybe something happened during the upgrade to win11, I don't know but it's sure frustrating and apparently there aren't any others having this problem?
