Problems with copy/paste and document upload in Microsoft Edge

I have seen two different symptoms that may be indications of independent issues, but I suspect they are related:

1. Copying a password from Edge Wallet (or password manager) and pasting into a login (even Microsoft 365/Azure admin websites) sometimes pastes a previously copied string (meaning from some previous copy/paste, unrelated to passwords) instead of the password.  Copying from LastPass immediately after doesn't exhibit the problem.

2. I had occasion to use a website to submit a recommendation letter for a couple of college applicants.  The submissions website provides for uploading in .docx or .pdf format. In both cases, using Edge, the preview of the uploaded document is unreadable.  Similar (maybe identical) results occurred for both .pdf and .docx.  Repeating the same process with Firefox worked fine.  Unfortunately, the process isn't easy to diagnose, because it is tied to a specific student making a request, and includes survey info, so i can't just go to the website and experiment, and I didn't do a screen clip to document the issue.
