Well apparently it is that important for me lol.
Visually appealing UI elements are indeed important to me.
Plus, Microsoft obviously didn't disfigure their icons on Windows. They remain exactly the same. Which is yet another proof that there's no need to cage them in a white square. Like I mentioned, I just wish developers didn't take Apple's questionalble design suggestions too seriously.

- I see, I suggest that thee suggest feedback to them as I cant' really help anymore. Though Microsoft did put icons into squares in Windows 10 in live tiles or Windows 8 🙂
