As predicted and suggested, now that Edge C has replaced your Edge HTML (and set as Default browser) it DOES (now) work with Timeline 
.

Which build/channel?
Doesn't work for me on Stable Version 79.0.309.71 (Official build) (64-bit) without Microsoft's Web Activities extension from the Chrome Web Store being installed and enabled.
- Same here, and it Won't work until History syncing is fully implemented in Edge browser.
- History syncing is still turned off, meaning no sync between Edge on IOS/Android and desktop version.
