Option to turn off tab groups automatically pinning by default.
I noticed that tab groups got an update recently that allows them to be pinned. I like this feature, but I'd like to see an option that allows users to choose whether the tab groups are automatically pinned when they are created.
I use an extension to group my tabs into pins by URL because my browser gets crowded while researching. The auto-grouping keeps it somewhat orderly. I don't need my tab groups to reopen when I open my browser again. Since they automatically pin, I have to close each group manually so I have a fresh start the next time I want to use my browser.
After looking through the options, I didn't find one to disable this feature, so, I'd like to request one. I'm not sure if this is the way to do it, but I figured I should at least try something. Does anyone have any advice on how to approach the situation and what to do? I've never used this site before.

- always take a mis-trigger on it, only need a small mouse movement to trigger, and need lot of operation to undo it. quite annoying.
- When this started happening I thought something was broken. Defaulting this setting to "on" was a terrible idea. Please, change the default setting to "off" or give us a setting to do so.
- I thought it was broken too… I was using extensions to auto group my tabs by domain and then they started sticking around… as I normally have 100 tabs open at any given time, my default to close everything is to close and reopen edge… that stopped working so I had to stop grouping my tabs.
It’s sad because tab groups was what Edge had that made it more useful for me than Chrome. Now, since I can’t use it like I used to, it’s no longer any better than Chrome for my use case.
Too bad. I hope MS fixes this soon.
- I have a same situation!!! HOPE you can add a switch to change default option in pin tab group and NOT pin tab group!!!
I used comfortably before the sudden change that default pin tab group.
