Hello,
just wanted to say that if by any chance you decide to implement it, please choose the most secure way, i.e our data only stay in Microsoft servers and Not Google.
a module or extension to be added or removed from the browser at any time by the user sounds good BUT if in order for that said extension or module to work properly, you have to add Google services back to Edge, which you previously removed in the de-googling process of Chromium, please don't.
because that's one of the biggest reasons I'm using Edge canary and not using Chrome, you could even say that's the only reason. because the UI or engine aren't anything special, they can be found in other browsers such as Vivaldi, Opera, Yandex and they DO have beautiful interfaces, but they are owned by other companies and not Microsoft which I trust so that's why I'm not using them. if Microsoft Edge starts getting Google stuff again, it will be the time to find a different browser, most likely Firefox, which co-exists on my system with Edge since I have canary channel and it tends to be unstable sometimes.
Thank you!

I'm not sure about everyone else, but at least for me I just need this feature to sync my chrome browsing history. And to be quite honest, I don't think most people want or even care about their extensions being synced, I think most people are just looking for their history and bookmarks being synced, me included.

1. Why would you like an ongoing sync between the two? What problem would it solve for you?
> I'm not yet sure about going full-on Edge. I want to be able to go back to Chrome anytime I want and to not have to manually import any new bookmarks/favorites, settings, and extensions from Edge to Chrome. I want to be able to switch to either browser as needed.
2. Do you expect to leverage this ongoing sync only for a short period of time (for instance during initial assessment of Microsoft Edge) or for long period (continue to use multiple browsers)?
> I believe I have answered this partly in my response to the first question. To say it again, I'm looking at testing Edge's capabilities. But I don't see any reason to say goodbye to Chrome now. I'm an Android user and I don't know if Edge has an Android version. I want to be able to sync my browsing preferences throughout all my devices: desktop, laptop, and phone. So I want to experience this ongoing sync now -- and hope that in the future it will stay there as an option. Just please give us users an option. An open one.
3. How would the absence of this ability change your perspective on Microsoft Edge adoption?
> It would hurt. I mean I don't understand why others hate Chrome so much. I'm not that used to Edge either. Without the option for an ongoing sync, I might get back to Chrome. I hope I could experiment on both browsers without having to encounter such hiccups.
4. Would the creation of a Chrome extension fulfil your requirement?
> I guess so. I'm interested in tech but I'm not that techie either. So a Chrome extension might solve the problem. Please let me know if this already exists. Thanks.

Well said HotCakeX and I agree! I used Firefox for many years until de-googled Chromium based Edge became available. I don't use anything Google if at all possible. Edge has come a long way and I like it enough to recommend it and have it as my default browser. Forcing anyone to add Google chrome extensions defeats the purpose behind Edge and for me, it would likely make Firefox my default browser choice again.
That being said, for the time being, a possible solution might be to have Edge ask for permission to temporarily install a Google extension to sync with Chrome as long as said extension is immediately removed after synching.
Keep Google out of Edge!

They certainly can fix the UI to make it better and it wouldn't take too much, IMO. And at that point I don't see why people would need sync for Google at all (although I don't see why people need or want it now either) The settings page, right click menu, and menu are all better than other Chromium browsers; they really just need to work on the navbar - there is too much spacing between the icons and the icons themselves are a bit lackluster and there is like a white shadow that shows up on dark webpages under the navbar that feels off to me.

Sorry I don't think I was talking about the UI but now that you mentioned it, it doesn't look too spaced or big, the address bar is already long enough to type and see web suggestions, the spacing is good for both mouse and touch users, like fast navigation with enough padding

I respectfully disagree with your opinion on the spacings.

on the contrary, they're going to add Microsoft services to Chrome through the extension
