New banner with Canary

Hello

Recently with Canary, I have a banner that appeared with the indication "you'll need to add a Microsoft API key to your app, website or server"

When I click on the "Learn more.... "button to find out more, I get an error message on the new page => permanently-removed.invalid’s server IP address could not be found..

It's what ??

Thanks

  • tistou Yes still getting it on DEV version, as of 16th May - havn't  currently got Canary at the moment.
Version 126.0.2566.  Not major issue but hoping it goes away soon....😊

I just tried the same version of MS EDGE Dev 126.0.2578.1 in Windows 10, and it fails the same way. They definitely broke it with this update️. 🤷‍
It closes in a few secs when entering anything to search for, in the address bar or in the search box.
At first the bug showed up with Windows 11 Build 26217 because it uses Edge Dev as default. The problem appears to be common to any Windows build that uses this version of MS EDGE Dev.
This bug is quite worse that the one they just fixed with this update. 🤬

        Edit:

Turns out that all I needed to do to fix the problem was clearing "All data from the previous version of Microsoft Edge".

    一模一样的问题,打开浏览器在iTab新标签页页面出现,关闭之后无事发生

After I restarted my pc and opened Edge Canary, the banner was back. However, I dismissed it, and it didn't return. Let's see what happens later after another restart.

Yep, still there in Version 126.0.2563.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit). I've dismissed the banner and restarted Canary and it still shows up...

I've updated to Version 126.0.2563.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit), and the banner issue is gone. I've tested it thoroughly: closed and reopened Edge, visited random websites, refreshed multiple pages, and still no sign of it. Looks like the problem has been resolved.
