MS Patches render microphone unusable with Teams, Zoom, Googlemeet, etc

I have 2 HP laptops in my organization running Windows 11 ver22H2.  Patches released in June and July have resulted in the microphones not working ONLY in meeting software TEAMS, and Zoom, etc.  I can use MS Sound Recorder and it "hears" just fine.  

I have proven this was result from the patches by removing these updates, rebooting and VOILA, the microphones work with every application. 

Any Ideas??
