Ms edge opens but web pages not responding

This has been going on for two weeks. I can open edge but immediately get page not responding. I havd cleared cache, hx, defraged, restart, etc still same issue. The only thing i can possibly wonder is my antivirus software which is avast. I am at a total loss as to what to do. I did uninstall chrome and reinstall it. It gets the same message but if i wait a bit it will work.
