Missing "Search in sidebar"

Hi there!

Already two builds missing for me "Search in sidebar".

Currently on Microsoft Edge Version 86.0.601.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit)

OS build 20185.1000

Any idea what is wrong? Or this is controlled feature?

For me, I am able to access the sidebar, just that the sidebar directs me to an actual website that gives me the definition, not the actual sidebar its self, I have told Microsoft about this and I would like it very much if ya'll fix it.

Hi there, you are welcome to the Microsoft Tech Community!

The sidebar search is a controlled rollout feature so some people might see it and some people might not see it. You can get this feature in the future canary update.

I can also confirm that the sidebar search is not disabled when you set search engine other than Bing.

Thanks a lot for your welcome and response.

"Search in sidebar" was for me from beginning. Very useful and awesome feature. But now it disappeared.

Well, I'll be waiting for it to come back!

  • You might be using Google as search engine, Once try using Bing as search engine, if you already using Bing, I don't know what caused it.

    Thank you.
